Our client visited a local convenience store in Bungay. As she entered the store she slipped on some spilt milk sustaining moderate injuries to her lower back.
The store initially attempted to deny liability on the basis that they had a regular system of inspection in place for such spillage and the accident must have happened in between such inspection times.
On further investigation the shop’s insurers were unable to produce any written evidence of either the investigation times or their frequency and as a consequence liability was admitted and, following the obtaining of a medical report, settlement was agreed.
